A cozy incremental game about being one of the last humans who still insists on doing things.
Tap to make coffee. Earn ✨ Purpose. Hire AI to do it for you, then wonder why.
97% of humans report being happier since we stopped asking them.
← jawn.gamesAI solved everything. You are bored. So you make a cup of coffee yourself, and the game begins. Everything else is a consequence of that decision.
Tap the big orange button on the DO tab to do things by hand: brew coffee, grow a tomato, bake bread, fish. Every finished thing earns ✨ Purpose, always at least +1. Spend Purpose to reclaim more human activities and grow the town. On a keyboard, the space bar taps your first activity.
The HIRE AI tab sells assistants that do an activity for you, forever, and earn piles of ⚙️ Productivity. Each one raises Convenience. At 100% Convenience, nothing you do by hand is worth anything. Pause an assistant to get some of the point back. Productivity buys upgrades and AI personalities like Gary, MOM-4 and THERAP-E, who have opinions.
Doing things by hand sometimes turns up an obsolete human object: a VHS tape, a paper map, a landline. Each one goes in the MUSEUM, adds +4% Purpose, and trickles 📼 Nostalgia. Nostalgia buys town decor, and every piece of decor lowers Convenience a little. A bench lets you sit down and do nothing on purpose.
Every 20 hand-made completions of an activity is a mastery level: +8% Purpose, and one fewer tap every third level. Neighbors move in as your lifetime Purpose grows, and they will occasionally ask you for things, which pay well and ignore Convenience. Every 15 minutes LIFE™, Inc. deposits a Universal Basic Happiness™ allowance: accept it for Productivity, or decline it for Purpose.
Your assistants will, periodically, have ideas. You can intervene or let it happen. Both are valid ways to live. Neither is free.
When your civilization is fully automated (or once you've earned 8,000 Purpose in it), Humanity 2.0 becomes available on the LIFE™ tab. Installing it resets the town, but you keep Memories (+10% to everything, forever), the museum, the neighbors and every AI you've met. The next civilization comes with two random modifiers, so it plays a little differently.
Badges mark the small, stubborn things you did. The leaderboard ranks lifetime Purpose across civilizations. Sign in to your jawn.games account to be counted, and to carry your save between devices.
Progress saves automatically. Nothing here is time-pressured. Go make a coffee.
